President Donald Trump broke from his "working vacation" Sunday night to vent about how the media has failed to cover the successes of his first six months in office.
"The Fake News refuses to report the success of the first 6 months: S.C., surging economy & jobs, border & military security,ISIS & MS-13 etc," Trump wrote on Twitter, just a day after he tweeted a link to a Washington Post story highlighting his administration’s fight against ISIS.
Despite his behind-the-scenes interactions with reporters, Trump frequently, and sometime viciously, excoriates mainstream journalists for their lack of focus on favorable topics to the president and his agenda.
The president who has pushed back against descriptions that he is on vacation, is currently staying at his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he will be for much of August.
Trump also wrote that he was "very happy" was the United Nations Security Council vote on Saturday, in which they adopted some of the harshest sanctions yet against North Korea.
The president has often slammed China for not doing more to rein in North Korea, but the Chinese joined the U.S. in voting for a ban on North Korean exports of coal and other materials, along with news restrictions to North Korea’s access to the global financial system. The vote was 15-0.
