President Donald Trump on Saturday morning called on Republican senators to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, urging them to "step up" despite "obstruction" from Democratic lawmakers.
"The Republican Senators must step up to the plate and, after 7 years, vote to Repeal and Replace. Next, Tax Reform and Infrastructure. WIN!" the president wrote on Twitter.
He added: "ObamaCare is dead and the Democrats are obstructionists, no ideas or votes, only obstruction. It is solely up to the 52 Republican Senators!"
Trump has claimed several times that Obamacare is "dead," despite the White House and GOP lawmakers being unable to pass through legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care act thus far.
On Friday, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that the president is still expecting Senate Republicans to replace, not just repeal, Obamacare next week. The vote, however, is still on track to fail.
