Famed talk show host Oprah Winfrey does not plan to run for public office.
Winfrey put any speculation that she would to rest this week in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter’s "Awards Chatter" podcast while promoting an HBO drama "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks."
"I will never run for public office," Winfrey said. "That’s a pretty definitive thing."
Though President Donald Trump entered politics after having no previous experience in public office, Winfrey said she doesn’t think she will make that same attempt in 2020.
"I don’t know. I don’t know the answer to that," the 63-year-old talk show host said, in response to a question on whether she could defeat Trump in 2020. "But I’ll never have to know the answer to that, because I will never run for public office."
Winfrey supported Trump’s opponent, Hillary Clinton, during the 2016 election.
