Former President Bill Clinton is working on a novel with author James Patterson about a missing president.
The novel, titled "The President is Missing," will be published in June 2018. Alfred A. Knopf and Little, Brown and Company will publish the novel jointly.
The book will “offer readers a unique amalgam of intrigue, suspense and behind-the-scenes global drama from the highest corridors of power,” according to the press release announcing the novel.
Clinton will provide insight only a former president could, the release said.
“Working on a book about a sitting president — drawing on what I know about the job, life in the White House, and the way Washington works — has been a lot of fun,” the former president said in the release.
Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group Chairman Sonny Mehta and Hachette Book Group CEO Michael Hachette announced the novel Monday. They acquired rights from Robert Barnett of Williams & Connolly. Terms of the agreement were not released.
